GypsyMoon Mehndi started out with just Astarte and I sharing what we love “Henna!” We started traveling to festivals and markets, creating small “Night of Henna” parties, Moon Circles and Red Tents. We adorned candles and drums, dancing endless nights around fires. Of course we still do all these things but we have stepped it up a notch adding in some more dynamic offerings.
Although Henna is still our primary focus, we both have a deep love for other aspects of our artistic and healing expression. So “New to GypsyMoon” we have added a few of these offerings to the dynamic of our world.
GypsyMoon is now home to our new Herbal Apothecary and Herbal Consultations. Over the past decade, even before I found henna, Herbalism was a big part of my passion and life. I studies both Western and Ayurvedic practices and plants. It wasn’t until late 2015 that I took the leap into a deeper study of herbal medicine. I enrolled into a school were I continued to study and practice hands on, in a full apothecary and clinical setting. I didn’t know at the time that I would fall in love so deeply with practicing clinical herbalism. But it gave me an outlet were I could truly help people with the medicines of the earth that I’ve come to know and trust.
Astarte has been offering Sacred Dance class for as long as we’ve known each other. In the past year she and her partner have been working together to create several workshops that transcend your normal dance class. It will tap into the energy of the universe, using musical vibrations along with ancient dance techniques that will send you spiraling into another world. Both of them bringing a new dynamic to what GypsyMoon has to offer to our community.
Next, Id like to introduce multi instrumentalist and artist, Nathan Dyke! (Also Astarte’s partner in music & dance.) Nathan is a talented musician, New to GypsyMoon, he is bringing another level of opportunity to our growth. With over 20 years of involvement in world music and applied vibrational healing, Nathan will be adding to GypsyMoon’s ability to bring music and healing workshops to our community. Offering workshop in Sound Meditation and World Drumming. He is also a talented artist and has a hand in making some beautiful unique jewelry pendents that we will be displaying as they become available.
As we continue to grow and navigate these new adventures ahead, we are happy that we can continue with our passionate love affair with all the things that make us who we are.
